Footing Option

The building site slopes very mildly,
the mid point of the units
will stand over the ground at 1mt,
side posts height will vary
according to land slope degree.

Concrete footing will hold the wooden posts
(see below picture)
These are the used telephone posts to be used with this footing option.

Office Unit

This is the only unit with a single 20ft HC.

Office Unit, Plan
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Office Unit, South Side

1 Door, 2576mm x 2600mm = side wall cut 10352mm
Total cut line on this side wall is 10352mm
Corten Steel Plates 6mm thick (door frame)
All along the door sides we will weld the Corten Steel Plates, NOT on the bottom side/floor level.
Therefore we will have plates in number and sizes as follows:
2x 2576mm x 450mm = m2 2,32
1x 2600mm x 450mm = m2 1,17
Total weld line on this side wall is 7752mm and the Corten plates will be in total m2 3,49.

One glass door, H 2576mm x W 2600mm = m2 6,7

This side after the door cut
remains with two portions of wall
2x 2576mm x 1729mm = total m2 8,91
Total m2/sqm 8,91
this figure is to be taken in consideration
when quoting the indoor wall insulation and finishing
and outdoor "Costanera" skin.

Office Unit, North Side

2 Doors, each 2576mm x 600mm = side wall cut 12704mm
Total cut line on this side wall is 12704mm
Corten Steel Plates 6mm thick (doors frames)
Along the doors sides and upper cut line we will weld the Corten Steel Plates, NOT on the bottom side/floor level.
Therefore we will have plates in number and sizes as follows:
4x 2576mm x 450mm = m2 4,64
2x 600mm x 450mm = m2 0,54
Total weld line on this side wall is 11504mm and the Corten plates will be in total m2 5,18.

Two glass doors, each H 2576mm x W 600mm = TL m2 3,09

This side after the two doors cut

remains with three portions of wall
2x 2576mm x 2072mm = total m2 10,67
1x 2576mm x 712mm = m2 1,83
Total m2 12,5
this figure is to be taken in consideration
when quoting the indoor wall insulation and finishing
and outdoor "Costanera" skin.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Office Unit, East Side

No wall cutting welding and Corten frames here
this is the side with the original container door
that will be doubled with inside glass door.

One glass door, H 2576mm x W 1318mm = TL m2 3,4
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Office Unit, West Side

1 Door, 2576mm x 1318mm = side wall cut 7788mm
Total cut line on this side wall is 7788mm
Corten Steel Plates 6mm thick (door frame)
All along the door sides we will weld the Corten Steel Plates, NOT on the bottom side/floor level.

2x 2576mm x 450mm = m2 2,32
1x 1318mm x 450mm = m2 0,59
Total weld line on this side wall is 6470mm and the Corten plates will be in total m2 2,91.

One glass door, H 2576mm x W 1318mm = TL m2 3,4

This side after the door cut

remains with two portions of wall
each one 2576mm x 400mm = total m2 1,03
Total m2 2,06
this figure is to be taken in consideration
when quoting the indoor wall insulation and finishing

Tony's re Corten Plates

15/04/13   14.35hrs

Hi Francesco,

I am a little confused about you need for 6mm corten steel plate. I dont think the window or door frame need that plate.

If you need we can cut the frame of the window and door for you as long as you tell me the size of the door and window you will install on site. Like the attached pictures.

Best regards

Dear Tony,

to help understanding, by way of example this is one of the door frames.

What I need is not the wole frame welded together but only the single plates, I'll weld them together.

Again in my previous mail of few hours ago you'll find detailed specs list and drawings.

Regards.

Outside walls finishing.

Considerable saving selecting this green jacket option
in place of the "Costanera" skin (see here below) for the outside walls.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The external walls will be shaded with an easily removable skin
made of a metal frame where “Costanera” timbers are fixed on it with round-head bolts.

The following image shows a material sample as reference.
This jacket aims to partially shade the modules from direct sun exposure
and give them an image that will integrate and melt with the environnement.

We’ll only use the external layers of timbers
with irregular organic edge lines fixed with a little distance from each other on top of a metal frame

so that the cointainer structure can be perceived in the back ground creating a transparency that gives lightness to the visual impact of the container’s module.
Again, looking at the picture here above,
imagine taking off the underlayer of timbers and leaving only the top ones,
through the timbers gap you'll see the container wall in the back-ground.
At a later stage will decide if those timbers will be left in their natural color, yellish warm wooden tone (as shown in the pictures here above)
that with weather oxydation will turn gradually to the typical silver grey color that wood gains when exposed to weather elements
or they will get a layer of black “Bondex”

diluted with solvent to give less intensity and more transparency to the paint in favour of a higher visibility of the wood structure.
The pictures here below
show a very close example of what the containers modules will look like.
The manifacturer will deliver them already in this color (ral 8022).

The pictures shown here below
are a sample of the traditional way to build wooden huts in the Comporta area.
Although the building site remains about 20 kms away from Comporta,
down the EN 261 direction Grandola from Troia,
these dwellings typical of the Comporta/Carvalhal/Carrasqueira area were in my mind
conceiving this design.

Technical drawings of the outside wall skin soon avaialable.
